The Porsche Museum in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen opened in 2009 as a landmark of contemporary museum architecture. Designed by Delugan Meissl Associated Architects, the building appears to float above the ground, its angular white form a bold statement matching the cars within. The permanent collection spans over 80 vehicles — from the original 1948 Porsche 356/1 Roadster to current factory race cars — and is supported by an archive of more than 50,000 objects and 200,000 photographs. The museum sits at the heart of Porsche's original factory site, steps from where Ferry Porsche built the first car to bear his name. For collectors, it is one of the defining pilgrimage destinations in the automotive world.
