Why Enthusiasts Visit

The Toyota Automobile Museum in Nagakute, Aichi — near Nagoya — opened in 1989 to chronicle the global history of the automobile, with a particular focus on how Western automotive culture was adopted and transformed in Japan. The collection spans 140 years of automotive history and includes over 180 vehicles from around the world, displayed across two buildings. Unlike purely brand-focused museums, the Toyota Automobile Museum takes a deliberately panoramic approach: American classics, European sports cars, and Japanese domestic models are presented side by side, tracing the convergence of global automotive culture. The museum is considered among the finest in Asia.
